The Classical Academy mountain bike team continues to ride strong with another exciting weekend of racing! Competing against almost 1000 racers from across Southern California our team came away several podium finishes, dirty smiles and improved finishing times! A hard fought podium slot for senior, Luke Pankratz securing a 3rd place finish against an extremely competitive varsity field, Cooper Kellerman (sophomore) grabbing 3rd place in a massive field of 74 riders (retaining his "Leader's Jersey for accumulation of points after his 1st place finish at race #1) and a 4th place newcomer, in only his second race ever, Tavin Garcia, wow'ed the crowd after leading the pack of 42 riders for most of the race!
We are so proud of ALL our racers for the grit, determination and strength they put forth on the race course. We had some crashes, broken bikes and left some skin on the course but everyone put it all out there and rode with heart and determination all while cheering for their teammates!
The CAHS cross country mountain bike team is open to athletes grades 6th-12th from all Classical schools, including Coastal HS. Our season runs December-mid-May. Racing is optional. We welcome all levels and abilities. Our team fosters a love of biking, in a supportive, fun and inclusive manner. We ride trails all over North County while teaching biking skills, building endurance and meeting the goals of each rider, from serious racer to the casual beginner. Biking is for Life & Biking is for Everyone!
